The role
As a Planner you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will join our project controls team on a ground breaking project involving the decommissioning of a nuclear site. The project is of immense importance and spans over a period of five years. With a total value of 90 million pounds, it represents a significant investment in ensuring safe and efficient nuclear waste disposal.
Day to day, you’ll be preparing and maintaining integrated schedules of project activities and events.
Responsibilities of the Planner
- Develop/implement and maintain the Project structures (WBS/OBS/RBS/CBS)
- Develop/baseline and maintain the Project integrated schedule. (Level 1-3)
- Ensure alignment between the integrated scheduling toolset and the companies financial and material demand toolset. This includes alignment of any Level 4/5 schedules.
- Understand and report on project using Earned Value Analysis techniques and interpret/communicate the results and any corrective action to the project team.
- Provision of schedule risk analysis updates on a monthly basis and to inform the baseline
- Support to commercial change process, impact assessments and execute change control process as appropriate
Essential experience of the Planner
- Extensive recent and relevant experience in a similar environment / business sector
- Awareness of NEC3/4 contracting methodologies
- Advanced knowledge of scheduling toolsets e.g. Primavera/MSP etc…
- Full project lifecycle experience from bid phase through to close out
- Quantitative risk analysis experience
The Planner role offers agile, hybrid working patterns. You will be expected to work in one of our office locations for a minimum of 2 days each week. There will also be very occasional visits to our customers site in Newbury.
Qualifications for the Planner
- A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in engineering/project/construction - (desirable)
- Professional qualification (eg APM/Acoste/RICS) – (desirable)
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
