BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the effective management and implementation of projects relating to new products, overseeing the NPD/NPI process at every stage from concept to launch.

Working hours: Monday - Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am to 2.00pm (37.5 hours per week)

Location: Lisburn, BT28 (office based)

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To oversee and manage simultaneous projects in relation to new product developments and implementation through all stages from conception through to implementation and evaluation.
  • Supervise and allocate the work of the New Product team whilst ensuring strong leadership and direction.
  • Provide key stakeholders, Senior Management Team, and Directors with periodic updates on project status, ensuring any major changes or movement with timescales is communicated clearly.
  • Ensure all Project Plans are regularly updated and direct all internal departments to ensure all aspects of the Gateway Process are completed on time to achieve target launch dates.
  • Ensure supply chain meet critical deadlines to ensure product launch dates are met.
  • Liaise with internal technical departments e.g. Quality, Engineering and Production to ensure samples meet quality and safety specifications as well as ensuring manufacturing and machinery capability.
  • Contribute to Key Stakeholder Pre-launch process in conjunction with the Training & Development Manager to ensure product information and training material are accurate.
  • Ensure the provision of full, detailed, and accurate technical and quality specifications for each project, whilst ensuring adherence to Company and New Products ISO procedures, master samples etc.
  • Co-ordinate full post launch analysis in conjunction with the Senior Management Team and follow up on actions as required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Third level business or engineering related qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years’ project management experience within a similar role
  • People Management experience
  • Proven experience of MS Project or equivalent project management software
  • Experience of working to ISO procedures
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present and communicate to Directors and staff at Senior levels
  • Ability to work on own initiative and manage own time to effectively meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional membership of accredited body e.g. CIM, CIPS
  • Previous experience of Navision (or similar ERP system) and Microsoft Project
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of dealing with global supply chain and negotiation with suppliers and resourcing of supply lines
