Project Manager (Digital and Retail) - Hobbycraft Head Office, BH23 6HG
Salary £55,000pa to £65,000pa, dependant on experience - Pension with a 4% contribution, 25 days holiday increasing every year, 25% discount in our stores, dog friendly office and many more!
Full Time – 37.5 hours
Our core business working hours are Monday to Friday – 10am to 3pm, so we are flexible with starting and finishing times, we also offer hybrid working with the option to work away from the office 2 days a week.
About the Role
The role of Project Manager is part of our IT Department. The role combines two key areas of responsibility:
- Coordination of schedule, resource, risk, and budget for a portfolio of Digital & Retail projects and continuous improvement. The key is to establish and maintain pragmatic processes, standards, and controls to guide the Hobbycraft team to optimised delivery of change.
- Leadership of a small number of key Digital & Retail projects, spanning functions and stakeholders across Hobbycraft. When leading these larger projects, the role requires the setting of clear objectives and targets for the end-to-end delivery of projects, from business case through to service transition.
Responsibilities
- Key role in mobilising and delivering change activities aligned to the strategic agenda for Digital & Retail.
- Drive the efficiency of Continuous Improvement (for website and app), with optimised output being delivered through regular releases.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal (IT Team, Product Owners, and SMEs) and external (Development partners, QA/Test partners, and service providers) teams and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, collate status, and manage the RAID across all projects, escalating risks and issues as required.
- Optimise project delivery within clearly defined scope and to an agreed budget, while also coordinating delivery schedules and dependencies across the Digital & Retail portfolio of projects.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Promote best practise for QA/Test and assist with test planning, liaising with external testing partners as required.
- Measure and communicate delivery performance using appropriate tools and techniques, for key projects and for the wider portfolio.
- Keep things simple, clear, concise, and accurate.
About You
- Project Management experience gained within a retail environment, including exposure to digital and multi-channel solution delivery.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, while being flexible in approach to adapt to changing context and priorities.
- Solid technical background with a good working knowledge of software development.
- Ability to shape and drive change, with excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Adept at managing prioritisation and resource management.
- Able to collaborate closely with technical architecture/design/development/QA teams.
- Collaborative, organised, and structured approach to ways of working and documentation.
- Expertise in change management, including the behavioural and cultural aspects that allow teams to be successful.
