Job description
Closes Friday 11th August, but please apply as soon as possible as we may close the vacancy early
We’re looking for a dedicated Project Manager to help us oversee our diverse spectrum of projects, liaise with our clients, communicate feedback with our in-house team, and manage multifaceted budgets.
At Zubr we’re no strangers to working across a myriad of sectors. Our specialist approach to augmented and virtual reality takes us from cultural clients like Bristol Old Vic’s historic theatre and the National Gallery’s Renaissance wing, to large scale immersive showcases for tradeshows or virtual reality training programmes for universities and government departments. Our AR binoculars have stood watch over Cardiff Bay’s historic shipyards, London’s ever-changing skyline, and American Revolutionary War battlefields.
This role has the potential for accelerating your career progression; with our company expanding and diversifying across different sectors, there will be opportunities for specialist management roles further down the line. For example, leading project management for heritage, arts and tourism; medical, construction, events or advertising.
Responsibilities
- You’ll be the day-to-day project manager for multiple projects simultaneously
- You’ll ensure smooth communication between our team and external stakeholders
- You’ll plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
- You’ll develop and deliver detailed progress reports of all ongoing work
- You’ll proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and work with others to ensure projects remain on budget and on time
- Self-directed research and business development for new opportunities
Essential skills
- Proven project management experience - overseeing a project from start to finish, scheduling and planning all component tasks including budgeting, risk assessments, reporting, minuting, etc.
- Demonstrable experience of managing multiple projects at the same time and knowledge of management workflows
- Good people management skills - ability to liaise, represent and negotiate with stakeholders
- Excellent problem solving and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Proficient in project management software tools, methodologies and best practices including Google Sheets/Docs/GSuite for setting up and updating various document formats, from scratch and from templates
- Willingness to be flexible and drift outside your comfort zone - being able to react swiftly and adapt to change is paramount given the overlapping nature of our projects
Desired skills
- Experience working in a similar role at a software, TV, animation, events or game studio or agency would be highly desirable
- A keen interest in creative technologies and the future of the XR sector
- Existing experience of working with tech solutions such as augmented/virtual reality, interactive or online exhibits
Working from home
You will be based at our studio in Bristol, UK, allowing you to be fully connected to the goings-on in the company and to work closely with our team. For that reason, this role is unsuitable for remote workers. However, all staff have adapted to working from home up to two days per week - so it isn’t always essential for you to come in every day. This will be organised on a daily basis with the team.
