What you will be doing
- Project manage the MEP installation and MEP specific projects to the satisfaction and specification of the AELTC.
- Responsible for the MEP services delivery, health and safety and sub supplier performance and wellbeing.
- Build strong relationships partnering with internal stakeholders, to meet The Championships and project requirements, providing best practice advice and solutions, ensuring end user client satisfaction is achieved.
- Support with the management of interfaces between the Club, The Championships and other project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to the correct quality and programme ‘Right First Time’ without any disruption to the staging of The Championships and subsequent interference.
- Work in a clear and sustainable manner in conjunction with our Nett Zero Carbon targets and system replacement strategy.
- Support consultants and contractors in understanding existing site and building infrastructure to identify and define MEP strategic and project specific requirements.
- Manage consultants, contractors and suppliers undertaking validations and surveys of existing systems prior to the commencement of design, removal of services, demolition, and construction works.
- Coordination of the management of design for sub-sub-contract packages in compliance with the Employers Requirements, project strategies, regulations and best practice. Including production of technical submissions, and construction drawings.
- Ensure all staff are correctly trained with the correct levels of competency for the works performed.
- Chair and record design and progress meetings.
- Review and comment on documents and drawings in conjunction with the current British Standards, regulations, specifications and construction information and submittals to meet the appropriate compliance, quality and completeness as required to achieve AELTC requirements.
- Manage, measure, and monitor MEP installations for the assurance and acquiescence of quality and progress to ensure project compliance.
- Support cost managers with engineering, technical, and best value procurement advice for MEP plant, equipment, contractors, and sub-contractors.
- Ensure all works are performed within the programme, remain on budget, resourced correctly and that payments are made timely.
- To constantly review and audit MEP contractors site installations and production of handover documentation to ensure correct and timely handover to the AELTC FM team.
- Provide monthly reports and dashboards on the complete project process.
- Attend site inspections independently and with the main contractor, the architect and the QS, where progress, quality and site issues are discussed and agree periodic valuations of progress and change.
- Work in collaboration with other Estate Development team members in the delivery of all EDT and EM Projects ensuring best practice.
What part your role will play in The Championships
- Provide support as required to all departments throughout The Championships inclusive of technical support to Estate Management.
- Monitor and record operational status of the grounds and facilities for future development projects and master planning.
About you
- A bias towards mechanical design experience for site-wide infrastructures and building services installations and a competency in representing the team with regards to electrical works.
- A professional qualification/relevant experience in a relevant mechanical and public health or building services related discipline.
- Excellent in programme logic sequencing, forecast planning, organisational and delivery skills with the ability to cope with periods of pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to work successfully across a broad spectrum of stakeholders including consultants, contractors, public and staff.
- Ability to listen, influence, and communicate with a non-technical audience providing excellent service delivery.
- Professional leadership skills to manage consultants, contractors and sub-contractors to meet project milestones and handovers.
- Competency in the production of technical design, engineering and construction methods, sequence of work, processes and procedures with the ability to challenge, approve, and contribute for the betterment of the works.
- Ability with understanding of the conditions of contract, change control and values of work enabling improvements in project margin and end user operation.
- Mindset to think ahead and integrate with the Bigger Picture.
- Self-motivated individual with a good team ethic.
- A good technical understanding of the design and construction of shell and core and refurbishment building projects including offsite manufacturing and assembly.
- Knowledge of the product marketplace, product development, technical interfaces, and improvements.
- Experience in managing and delivering projects from conception to completion under a Design and Build JCT contract.
- Experience in commissioning management, methods and interfaces.
- Understanding of Asset Management, control and product/plant repair and replacement.
- Up to date IT skills – including design within a Revit 3D model, project reporting using BIM, competent use of Microsoft Project or Asta Powerproject, Excel, Word and Outlook.
