We are looking for a Project Manager to join our growing team.
As Project Manager you will be responsible for organising and overseeing all Vital Power projects. You will be highly organised and commercially driven.
The role is based from our Coventry Depot and will also require nationwide travel.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Ordering of all parts, equipment & ancillaries for project works with a focus on buying smart to maximise job margin
- Liaising with project engineers on site to ensure timetables are met and issues are dealt with promptly.
- Production and management of project programme/schedules.
- Liaising with operations team to allocate labour & resource
- Site survey attendance for projects won to allow full programme of works to be created
- Site survey attendance alongside sales team to assist technically with project schemes
- Acting as the main point of contact for sites during project works, including site attendance
- Expansion of subcontractor network for all disciplines (electrical/controls etc.) across the UK to ensure local labour always available to assist
- Creation & population of project tracker to map quoted costs vs actual costs to ensure accurate job margins can be monitored
- Commercial focus on making projects as profitable as possible
- To provide regular feedback to Group MD regarding projects & profitability, highlighting any issues encountered & where attention should be paid in terms of pricing
- Expanding supplier network to ensure best value for money service is provided to our business
- Recruitment of new additions to the VP project team
Person Specification
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience in a similar, project management role
- Project management experience
- Experience of liaising with both customers and suppliers
- Strong commercial awareness
- Proactive & highly organised
- Computer literate, to include full Microsoft office suite
Desirable skills and experience:
- Microsoft Project literacy
- Experience working in power generation industry
- Electrical knowledge
- GSCE Grades A-C
- A Level Qualification(s)
- University Degree in relevant field
- Chartership or working towards
