The Role
We have an immediate requirement for an IT / IS Project Manager, based at our Head Office in Southampton. The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful implementation and management of a proprietary digital Business System software system into the Trant Business, reporting to the sponsoring Director of Information Systems.
Background
Trant currently utilises three different platforms in respect of its document management, namely a server based folder structure, Sharepoint and PMS. PMS is There is a bespoke self-developed Project Management System. This needs to be consolidated for ease of use and a single source of truth.
Following research and a procurement event, Trant have decided upon implementing the Asite software platform as its Document Management System. Likewise for the electronic Document Management System (DMS) to be a Common Data Environment (CDE) in terms of BIM for our design and draughting functions. Additionally, our Business Management System which is process / workflow based will be, to a large extent, be embedded as workflows to facilitate our project controls (Gateways) in the Asite platform.
There will be a need to retain a small but critical element of our PMS as well as our ERP, which is provided by COINS.
There will be a need to develop open API’s between the Asite platform with both PMS and COINS. This will be undertaken predominantly by our in-house software developers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Act as Project Manager to ensure the delivery of the project is on time, to budget and meets the project brief / company expectations
- Liaise closely with the Business Systems Manager, PMS Developers, COINS Manager, Quality Manager and key business function managers as required to ensure successful outcomes and expectations met.
- Maintain, plan and track progress against milestones, deadlines and budget and to report on these items to key stakeholders
- Execute standard Project Management governance such as Weekly Reports, Action Logs, Issue logs, Project Scheduling and Project Sub-Section Closure reports
- Anticipate, manage and resolve issues and act as the point of contact for the project
Essential Skills, Qualifications or Certificates
- Experience as a Project Manager of similar implementations into businesses
- Prince 2 or equivalent
- Skilled in adopting Agile methodology to implementation and harmonisation of systems
- Ability to manage several stakeholders
- Understanding of open API’s
- Track record in delivering projects to time and budget
Desirable Skills, Qualifications or Certificates
- Experience of the Asite Platform preferable
- Understanding of workflow processes
- Appreciation of quality compliance and governance
