Role Overview:

As a Utilities Project Manager, you will be responsible for generating and managing a new portfolio of clients interested in new connections, metering, renewable energy solutions, EV charging infrastructure, and related products. Your primary goal will be to drive sales and revenue growth by selling new connections to B2B clients, helping them transition to clean energy alternatives, and supporting the expansion of our renewable energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Generate Leads: Identify and target potential customers, including commercial entities, and public institutions, who would benefit from our complete utility service, solar power, EV charging solutions, and related infrastructure.

Client Relationship Management: Build strong and lasting relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions to meet their energy requirements.

Consultative Selling: Conduct thorough needs assessments, present product offerings, and educate clients about the new connections process, benefits of solar power, EV charging solutions, and related infrastructure.

Proposal Development: Prepare comprehensive proposals and quotes, outlining the technical specifications, pricing, and return on investment (ROI) for potential clients.

Negotiation and Closing: Collaborate with clients to address concerns, negotiate terms, and secure contracts for new connections and associated services.

Project Management: Coordinate with external partners’ teams, such as engineering and installation, to ensure seamless project execution, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction.

Market Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments to effectively position our products and services in the market.

Reporting and Forecasting: Provide regular reports on sales activities, pipeline, and forecasted revenue to the management team.

Qualifications and Skills

Proven Sales Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in the energy sector.

Industry Knowledge: A good understanding of the wholesale energy market, new metering, energy infrastructure, solar power systems, EV charging, and renewable energy trends, with the ability to articulate their benefits to potential customers.

Technical Acumen: Ability to grasp technical concepts and explain them in simple terms to customers.

Customer-Focused: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, understand customer needs, and deliver exceptional service.

Results-Oriented: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.

Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks to achieve sales objectives.

Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the overall success of the organisation.

Flexibility: Adaptability to a fast-paced, rapidly evolving industry and ability to embrace new technologies and advancements.

Education: A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
