We are looking for an experienced Strategic Project Lead - Depot Operations Improvement, someone who thrives on challenge and working in a constantly changing and evolving environment. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Strategic Project Lead to spearhead the improvement of our depot operations. As the Strategic Project Lead, you will be the business lead responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, optimise processes, and drive continuous improvement across our depot network.
- Working with the UK Hire MDs to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic roadmap for depot operations improvement and depot network structure, aligned with the company's overall velocity strategy and vision.
- Lead and manage cross-functional project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Utilise existing in-depth analysis of current depot operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing innovative solutions.
- Communicating identified areas for improvement upwards via project steering groups to obtain sign off on delivery plans and timelines.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish metrics to measure the success of improvement initiatives.
- Support project teams to monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure timely completion of deliverables within budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate with stakeholders at various levels to gain buy-in, provide project updates, and manage expectations for delivery and change.
- Proactively identify risks and lead the development of mitigation strategies with the project team to minimise project disruptions.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in depot operations management and project management methodologies.
What you’ll need:
- A structured and organised approach to planning and organisation
- Experience working with PowerBI
- Proven experience as a project manager or project lead, preferably in an operations environment.
- Expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, driving collaboration and achieving project objectives.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Results-oriented mindset with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Professional certifications in project management, such as PMP or PRINCE2, are desirable.
- Familiarity with depot operations, logistics, or warehouse management systems is a plus
