Job Title: Project Manager – Space Systems - Bids and Projects

Location(s): Hybrid with occasional travel to Harlow and Raytheon UK sites

Summary of Role: Raytheon UK are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the PM elements of bids for Space based systems and then transition to and delivery of contracts.

Main Duties:

  • Support business development and capture activities for the Space product line.
  • Preparation of proposal documents in response to customer RFQs, RFIs, ITNs etc.
  • Supporting finance with proposal costing, development of Basis of Estimates (BoEs) and pricing of Risks & Opportunities (R&Os) and overall margin summaries.
  • Leading identification and management of programme risks and opportunities during bid and delivery phase to ensure the successful completion of projects/programmes.
  • Development and on-going management of Work Breakdown Structures and Programme Schedules.
  • Preparation of Project Management artefacts to support successful delivery – Project Management Plan, Risk and Opportunity Management Plan, Earned Value Management Plan, Stakeholder Management Plan etc.
  • Produce Management review packs and lead or support internal gate reviews.
  • Once on Contract, manage cross-functional teams to deliver project scope and assure the programme is executing effectively to meet contractual commitments.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement initiatives to optimise efficiency and quality.
  • Participate in collaborative relationships with peers within the team, Customer, strategic Partners, Suppliers and across Raytheon consistent with the shared vision.
  • Ensure adherence to Business Winning and Programme Execution processes.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Demonstrable Project Management experience and qualifications.
  • A self-motivated and driven Manager able to work flexibly to meet tight deadlines.
  • Supportive and resilient, with the stamina to work in sometimes sensitive and pressurised situations to overcome challenges.
  • Able to engage with technical experts with credibility and understanding.
  • Creative and open to innovation in order to solve problems.
  • Eligible for or Holder of current SC security clearance (Raytheon will sponsor as required)
  • Knowledge and experience of MS Project and other Microsoft Office applications (Excel. Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Ability to support with good written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the business.

Desirable:

  • Space domain engineering knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in Shipley proposal management techniques.
