Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Maintenance Project Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to lead and manage a team of maintenance professionals to maintain Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic signal infrastructure on behalf of the Virginia Department of Transportation .
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead and manage a team comprised of in-house and subcontractor maintenance staff
Ensure that the contractual requirements are met for the maintenance of VDOT's ITS and traffic signal infrastructure
Ensure that the staff have the training and resources (equipment, tools and vehicles) to provide the required services
Plan, direct, supervise and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal and administrative functions of the contract
Work with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.
Advise the client and company management of requested changes. The Project Manager is specifically responsible for maintaining current and timely change orders.
Follow-up on instructions and commitments associated with the contract
Ensuring that employees follow established health and safety protocols
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
10+ years of leading and managing transportation maintenance projects
Knowledge of ITS and/or traffic signal maintenance activities
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Experience leading a contract working with a public agency
Commitment to achieving contract goals and objectives
Broad general technical and business background
Proven ability to perform in a management capacity
Knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized
Ability to understand and use Microsoft Office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Technical expertise with either ITS and/or traffic signal maintenance
Understanding of site safety including Maintenance of Traffic requirements for temporary work zones
