As part of the National Trust's internal Consultancy Service in the Northern Ireland you'll be working on a large-scale project at one of our flagship countryside places.
Working closely with partner organisations including Mourne Heritage Trust, Northern Ireland Water and the Woodland Trust, and our own operational teams you'll be commissioning and developing management plans for the High Mournes and adjacent areas.

Your base location will be the office hub in Rowallane Garden, Saintfield, but there will be hybrid working arrangements with a balance of office, property and remote working.
What you'll be doing:This project is about adopting a more joined up approach to the protection and management of the land cared for by charitable organisations in the High Mournes and surrounding areas.
The aim is to enhance local lives, boost the local economy through sustainable tourism, and provide genuine economic benefits to the local area and beyond.
The project will implement the frameworks and recommendations from phase 1 of the Mournes Community Renewal Through Nature project enabling the future delivery of a progressive and sustainable landscape-scale management plan to protect the High Mournes and environs for future generations.
You'll lead the day-to-day delivery of this project, commissioning surveys, developing baselines, and being responsible for the development of action plans in order to inform future, large-scale nature conversation initiatives, education initiatives, in-depth community engagement and partnership.
You'll have a small project team to support you, and there'll be the opportunity to draw on the expertise of your colleagues in our internal consultancy service, as well as appoint third-party suppliers.
You’ll also be balancing the need to deliver the project alongside day-to-day operations and existing initiatives.

- Experience of successfully delivering complex end to end project/programme management, including defining resources, leading procurement securing project teams and matrix management across multiple projects/programmes
- A recognised project (AMP PMQ/Prince) or programme management (MSP) qualification or you will be able to demonstrate significant project management skills and experience, and be prepared to study towards the Project Management qualification (APM PMQ)
- Evidence of ongoing CPD in your career to date
- Excellent problem solving and influencing skills, able to confidently work with senior leaders
- Experience of managing complex external stakeholder relationships
