Your new role
Here at National Highways, we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team in our Bristol or Exeter office. Our Project Managers deliver a portfolio of construction and environmental projects within the region’s rolling 5-year capital programme by managing the performance of multiple external contractors and consultants, ensuring adherence to effective governance, quality assurance, health and safety, and technical and specialist standards across the supply chain.
This role is based in either one of our Bristol or Exeter offices.
What you’ll be leading on
- Managing the development of the design and delivery of capital investment schemes, developing and establishing project plans, and reporting on project health, progress and variances at appropriate review points.
- Commissioning and managing the performance of delivery partners, ensuring that project objectives and requirements are clearly understood. Identifying and evaluating efficiencies, risks, issues, dependencies and constraints associated with the project, escalating where appropriate and developing, agreeing and implementing solutions.
- Compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations 2015, and ensuring design and construction partners fulfil their duties on schemes.
- Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and supply chain.
- Establishing and delivering scheme specific communication plans, proactively managing customers’ perception of schemes to maintain and improve customer satisfaction, and responding to correspondence and other scheme related matters when required.
To be Successful
- Evidence of the successful development and delivery of projects to time, cost and quality. A recognised project management qualification is desirable.
- Evidence of managing relationships with multiple stakeholders and the ability to influence for positive outcomes.
- Demonstrable experience of taking projects through governance processes
- Demonstrable experience of managing the development of project plans in conjunction with delivery partners.
- Evidence of commercial skills with proven ability to manage contracts to deliver outcomes and drive value for money (experience of NEC contracts is desirable).
