Job Overview
- As a Project Manager you will be responsible for the projects of LVEV charging infrastructure.
- You will be managing projects with values from 5k to 2million.
- Managing civils and electrical teams, DNOs, energy providers and ensuring successful project delivery. The project manager will also be responsible for stakeholder management, milestone management and financial management.
- You will be home based but expected to attend site where needed.
- Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for the safe delivery of all LVEV projects awarded to the LVEV business unit.
- You will line manage a team of EV Electricians and service partners strategically placed throughout the UK to deliver the LVEV projects solution utilising self-delivery and service partners labour resource.
- Ensure that all projects adhere and are managed to commercial agreements/contracts.
- Ensure all projects comply with statutory regulations, are QHSE compliant and meet technical industry standards.
- Financial responsibility for the delivery of the Projects within your portfolio – manage the monthly P&L and ensure all costs are fully accountable and recoverable.
Main Duties
- Overseeing the management of electricians, civils and service partners, DNOs, energy providers and ensuring successful project delivery.
- With support of the EV project team manage the total project lifecycle of the development and installation process
- Update our key clients via meetings and our project hosting system.
- Develop key customer relationships
- Customer Satisfaction & Complaints
- Identify, reduce and manage all risks (technical, statutory, health & safety, commercial and otherwise) associated with each and every project.
- Maximise profit through cost reductions and management of sub-contractor services. Identify and win projects through effective relationships.
- Deliver supportive business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to management team meetings, briefings, and ad-hoc reporting as required.
- Develop effective relationships with current and potential customers through demonstrating our capability in project delivery solutions. Build strong relationships with supply partners through which we can bring innovation to our customers.
- Work with Projects Managers, Ops Delivery, and project coordinators teams within the wider Mitie to ensure the collaborative development of the EV Projects business with effective team working and support of colleagues.
What we are looking for
- Minimum of 5 years proven Project Management experience ideally within the Electric Vehicle Sector.
- Project Management methodology – broad understanding of construction/EV & electrical Health & Safety law and legislation.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification.
- Demonstrative evidence of having managed a Projects Team
- Good working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, strong project risk management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting
- Knowledge of the NEC contract including Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms
- Commercial awareness, strong financial acumen, influencing, selling and negotiation skills.
- Experience of close working relationship with design team, clients and control of contractors
- The ability to multi-task and deliver multiple projects simultaneously
- The ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion
- Experience ensuring that all installations comply with all current legislative and regulatory requirements
