Senior Project Manager– Domestic Retrofit, Derby/ Derbyshire
Job Purpose
You will lead a small team delivering a major new retrofit project and developing our retrofit activity in the area. They will take ownership of high-level relationships within the sector, including major funders, partner organisations and local authorities. They will contribute towards the strategic development of MEA’s retrofit activities, seeking new opportunities, and supporting income generation activities. The post holder will have a high degree of commitment to MEA’s values and ethos.
Major Activities
- Project Manage an innovative new project delivering in-person energy efficiency advice supporting householders in hard-to-treat properties.
- Working with colleagues in the West Midlands, develop the Future Ready Homes brand in the East Midlands.
- Lead a small team of staff, with the expectation of growth as work in this area develops.
- Develop and maintain positive partnerships with the private, public and third sector through your projects, to ensure successful delivery.
- Develop new opportunities for work, including paid services and funded activity.

Person specification
Essential
· Track record of successful delivery of projects or programmes.
· Specialist knowledge of retrofit, including retrofit qualifications, for example, DEA, retrofit co-ordination or qualified architect, or proven technical understanding and willingness to gain qualification.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, able to develop productive and professional relationships with key stakeholders from across sectors.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate technical issues clearly to a specialist and non-specialist audience.
· Mindset for development and income generation.
· Ability to deliver in person energy advice in people’s homes and at events the Derby & Derbyshire area.
· Embody MEA’s values and ethos, acting as a role model and leader.
Must hold a full driving licence, or can demonstrate a practical travel alternative.
Desirable
· Track record of managing staff.
· Good existing relationships and reputation with key organisations in the area.
· Proven income generation ability.
Location: Hybrid, home working with regular travelling in Derby area.
Hours of work: 36.25 hours per week
Leave: 24 paid days pro-rata per annum + bank holidays.
Duration: Permanent, subject to funding.
