The Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end delivery of Lyrical Security programs/projects and directly manages the full project lifecycle. Working as a key team member in the Lyrical PMO, this role is critical to successful service delivery and a positive client experience. Lyrical Project Managers demonstrate a strong ability to drive organization and professionalism in a fast-paced environment, with strong communication skills inside the company and outward to our customers and partners.
The Project Manager creates project plans and associated artifacts as applicable; executes project kickoff and closeout meetings; ensures that the project scope is effectively communicated and managed; creates and manages the project schedule/timelines; ensures service delivery and customer deliverables are high-quality and consistent; manages any risks and/or issues with appropriate internal communication and escalation as required; actively monitors and manages the project budget (both dollars and associated hours of effort); proactively removes delivery roadblocks; and facilitates communication both internally at Lyrical and to key project stakeholders.
The key to success as a Project Manager at Lyrical is the ability to assess and adapt. Lyrical offers highly tailored services to a range of clients which requires Project Managers to think critically, understand the unique needs of each project-client combination, determine which tools and artifacts are most applicable, and actively participate as a member of the team.
Responsibilities
- Work as the primary liaison between Lyrical, Lyrical partners, and customer stakeholders to facilitate project and program delivery.
- Create, update, and execute project plans and schedules against scoped deliverables and milestones. This includes Project Charters, timelines, communication plans, RAID logs, and other best practices as applicable to each engagement.
- Adapt and adjust plans to customer needs and project risks as required
- Proactively anticipate and/or detect project delivery risks and participate in resolving impediments to successful project delivery.
- Balance and prioritize the needs of multiple parallel projects.
- Maintain the project tracking and management system data with a strong attention to detail, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely data entry.
- Facilitate Kick-Off and recurring status meetings for engagements to ensure scope, roles, timelines, and rules of engagement are clear and on track.
- Proactively establish and manage expectations with the client and project team to remove subjectivity, validate assumptions and drive smooth delivery with successful outcomes.
- Actively drive issue resolution and communicate project challenges (both internally and externally) for prompt handling to minimize impact.
- Manage project budgets for both fixed price and time + materials contracts including active monitoring and reporting to identify risks, initiate change requests as required, or drive potential escalations.
- Plan and manage internally Lyrical initiaitves, as required.
- Balance the internal needs of Lyrical with the needs of clients and partners for shared success.
- Adhere to Lyrical’s project management methodologies while identifying opportunities for enhancement.
- Apply critical thinking to project challenges and foster a problem-solving mentality to remove blockers for delivery resources.
- Identify opportunities to drive delivery efficiency, create tools for repeatability, and support subject matter experts in delivery.
- Foster a client-centric approach that demonstrates adaptability and a positive experience in all interactions
Qualifications
- 3+ years of project management or a combination of project management and business analysis (experience with client delivery is preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple project simultaneously
- Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to drive discussion toward specific goals
- Comfort operating confidently with partial information/uncertainty
- Experience measuring project costs, resource utilization, and providing timely reporting of key metrics
- Willing to learn and adapt in a high-demand environment with evolving needs and processes
- Passionate about the opportunity to grow with an organization that values and enables project management
- Ability to influence people and outcomes without formal authority
- Experience with business analysis, process mapping, workbook creation, etc. (nice to have)
- Exposure and understanding of Information Security/Cybersecurity industry and a fundamental understanding of the work conducted by Cybersecurity firms, preferred but not required
- PMP, CBAP or like certification is strongly preferred but not required
