About the role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Project Manager, reporting into the Senior Project Manager to lead an overall team size of around 15 multi-disciplined engineers through the tail end of design and throughout the manufacture lifecycle Surface Ship Instrumentation across 8 Ships. This is for a large work package across one of the organisation’s major programmes. As the project Manager you will take full responsibility for project (contract) delivery, with a strong emphasis on subcontract management throughout the requirements, design and manufacture phase. You will work with Supply Chain and Commercial teams to ensure contract baselines, plans and schedules are maintained in line with agreed contract changes.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the Bid Team initially with Estimating Management labour hours; developing project delivery structure and plans; then mobilising the new project ahead of contract award and transitioning to management of the project post contract award
- Establish & maintain team organisation, resourcing and communications plans
- Creation and maintenance of project schedules and tracking metrics to expedite tasks to achieve on time deliveries to budget.
- Use appropriate planning techniques to help identify project resource requirements and manage availability with functional managers
- Develop & maintain monitoring & control of project deliverables
- Efficiently deliver clearly focussed customer & company project financial and schedule performance reporting
- Maintain project risk & opportunity registers(s), arranging regular reviews and communicating in monthly reporting cycle
- Support development of project management capability to support business & company growth (including managing own personal development)
Essential Skills:
- Creating & maintaining resourced Project schedules (using Microsoft Project) and associated WBS/OBS/RAM
- Management of risks and opportunities, through generation, maintenance and execution of risk and opportunity management plans
- Accurate schedule and finance monitoring and reporting, including detailed financial spreadsheet reporting to reconcile planned with actual expenditure, monthly review of EAC, VAC, ETC, GM, labour and materials expenditure etc.
- Good understanding and awareness of the engineering lifecycle to enable focused planning and development of corrective actions(s)
