Job description
12 Month Fixed Term Contract or Internal Secondment with possibility to extend
Maidstone / Remote working (With occasional travel across Kent to meet business need)
- Do you have the organisational and project management skills to help us make our vision for more person-centred social care a reality in local communities?
- Are you a highly experienced and creative project manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment whilst building good relationships with a variety of stakeholders including our busy workforce and the public?
- Can you help us win hearts and minds for the good of people in Kent, whilst being responsible for a complex programme of work and managing a dispersed team?
If this describes you, then you could be the person we are looking for. We are seeking an experienced project manager to work across a new programme in line with our five-year Adult Social Care Strategy and vision – a vision that puts people at the centre of what we do so that they can live a full life. The ability to manage several ongoing and interdependent projects simultaneously, ensuring they each deliver within their respective deadlines and achieve the agreed upon benefits, is key.
The Challenge
Social care and health services face several significant challenges in the years ahead, as the population is living longer and with more complex needs; increasing demand on the health and care sector. We are committed to maintaining and improving high quality services in Kent, despite the challenges faced by all public sector organisations. To help us achieve our ambitions, we have a dedicated Innovation Delivery Team to drive and deliver successful change within the organisation.
The Opportunity
This role will be part of our Stakeholder Engagement function within the Innovation Delivery Team. The team supports the Adult Social Care and Health Directorate to build the foundations for increased co-production between our workforce, people that currently draw on support and those with recent lived experience of social care across the county. Stakeholders will include people with learning disabilities, people who need support with their mental health, Autistic people, older people, people with physical disabilities and unpaid carers of adults.
The successful applicant will drive forward projects that bring structure, innovation and flexibility together in line with council policies. With the support of colleagues, they will be initially responsible for making this happen in a proactive and inclusive way.
The Person
This is a hands-on role, and every day will be different, so if you enjoy the buzz of working with a multiskilled programme team both virtually and face to face, this role will suit you well.
If you have a wealth of experience of designing and delivering effective change programmes that drive meaningful and sustainable outcomes for communities across a wide geographic area, then please apply.
