Project Planner (Major Projects)

What we are looking for:
In line with our UK growth strategy we are developing our Major Projects capability and are looking for a Project Planner for major, multi-disciplinary projects
Working with the UK Major Projects team, you will support project teams and provide technical planning expertise on bids and projects to ensure accurate programmes and project control materials are in place.
Responsibilities in this role will include:
- Producing comprehensive and professional programmes and project controls materials for bids and projects
- Ensuring baseline programmes are in place and accepted by the client to form the basis for capturing change and demonstrate cause and effect
- Analyse performance of planning and project control material and advise the project team of likely impact and recommend improvements/mitigation
- Ensure the project team is aware of and understands the programme, project drivers, key deliverable, critical and sub critical paths
- Support PMs on the creation of programmes as required
- Creation of bid programmes as required for Major Projects
- Undertake any other related planning responsibilities as directed by the Project Management Team Lead
- Ensure accurate planning estimates are established for bids & projects
- Ensure programmes are accurately cost loaded and include all sanction changes
What you will bring to the Team:
- Proficient user in the use of planning software and associated applications including Primavera or Microsoft Project
- Preferably experience of civil infrastructure and water detailed design programmes
- Good understanding and use of excel
- Experience of managing multiple project programmes, updating in line with the contract and informing the team on progress
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive and collaborative interaction with other business functions and stakeholders
- Able to chair a progress meeting to understand project progress
- A “can do” and enthusiastic attitude to work with a flexible and agile approach
