This is a genuinely exciting time to join the East of England Ambulance Service Trust's Programme Management Office (PMO), amidst some of the most potentially impactful Transformation and Change programmes the Trust has ever seen.
The Programme Management Office provides a corporate service and is functionally responsible for driving the end-to-end process of identification, implementation and evaluation of transformation, cost improvement, productivity, and business development initiatives across the Trust.
The Project Managers have a key role reporting to the Programme Manager and supporting the delivery, prioritisation and reporting of the Trust’s projects, identified as part of the overall Programme function.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring a robust regime of change control and project documents library are in place and maintained for the projects they are responsible for, escalating issues with project delivery within the existing project governance framework.
The post holder will need to be conscientious, meticulous and at all times act in a professional and confidential manner.
This post calls for a highly motivated individual who is able to work using their own initiative, prioritising their own workload, dealing with a number of complex issues at one time and working under pressure. The role is central to all Trust Improvement Programmes and will require diligence and attention to detail in order to manage the complex and varied workload.
The post holder will be proactive in their workload working collaboratively alongside delivery managers to ensure projects are effectively managed and delivered.
East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) employs over 5,000 staff with a further 1,000+ volunteers who between them cover 7,500 square miles and care for a population of more than 6 million. Our three control rooms in Bedfordshire, Norfolk and Essex handle more than 1 million 999 calls every year, over 2,500 calls a day.
EEAST's PMO works with every directorate and area in the Trust. Our work is interesting, varied and challenging. The Improvement and Transformation programmes, will all ultimately have an impact on service delivery and therefore on patient care.
Provide robust project management for a range of projects aligned to the Trust’s strategy and transformation plans. Working autonomously in the prioritisation of a varied workload, ensuring that all deliverables within the projects are achieved, within the timescales set out in the project plans.
Provision of subject matter expertise to support managers in the delivery of smaller local projects which are not within the scope of the Programme Management Office.
Leading on aspects of project delivery as required, in order to support specialist functions and taking decisions based upon highly complex situations.
Develop and manage project plans and documentation autonomously, delivering required reports and associated information for internal and external meetings.
Autonomously identify areas of the projects that are slipping and identify suitable corrective action or recovery plans, utilising the Trust’s programme framework and governance methodologies to ensure changes are overseen, escalated, and agreed by the relevant parties.
