Overview

At Centrica Business Solutions (CBS) we provide integrated energy solutions that deliver cost efficiency, resiliency, and accelerate our customers’ journey to a net zero future.

This strategic leadership role resides in our UK and Ireland Services business where we finance, build, operate, and maintain clean energy assets to help large public sector and industrial customers decarbonise to meet their net zero targets. This includes sourcing green energy, providing project design and delivery expertise, financing options, and industry leading operational capabilities to deliver energy efficiency and save customers money, helping them balance the demands of planet and profit.

You will lead, manage, and develop an industry leading Project Delivery function, driving the business strategy to deliver flawlessly across multiple technologies including H2 ready Combined Heat and Power (H2CHP), Heat Pump, Solar, Battery Storage, Hydrogen, and other behind-the-meter installations. You bring the perfect balance of commercial thinking, customer focus, and project expertise to deliver on scope, schedule, cost, and quality while unrelenting on safety performance.

The Role

In your role as Head of Projects you will ensure no surprises and create a world class team where safety and delivery are paramount. You’ll lead, inspire, and develop a high performing inclusive team responsible for the predictable and increasing profitability for all projects from point of sale, to project handover.

There is a strong need to drive collaboration with sales, engineering, and operations and maintenance that creates innovative solutions and processes to ensure a positive customer experience. Lastly, you are an expert in managing EPC(M) models and know the contract types inside out.

The Person

You are a known and experienced leader who delivers major capital projects where you have had responsibility for development, construction, contract management, P&L, and health and safety. You have led concurrent projects, across multiple locations, and have operated at a senior level setting strategy, securing resources, and building a high performing collaborative team. Your deep commercial acumen relating to cost, risk, and varying contract types is a true differentiator. Lastly, you’ll naturally find common ground with customers where we can increase our offerings while managing complex stakeholder relationships.

You’ll have an electrical or mechanical bias and a business background with senior project management expertise and requisite qualifications. You have evidence of developing a strong safety culture and knowledge of industry regulations, practices, and codes. It is preferred if you have developed energy assets on industrial and commercial properties connecting into private networks but not essential.
