Job description
An exciting opportunity exists within Cambridgeshire County Council to work across the whole of the Place and Sustainability (P&S) Directorate.
This role, working closely with the Executive Director and Directorate Management Team, will provide coordination and support to project management across a wide range of P&S projects in the running of Directorate business, such as financial business planning, and other strategic projects, such as major infrastructure proposals. Reporting into the Assistant Director: Planning, Growth and Environment the successful candidate will be expected to lead on specific projects, undertake report writing and presentations to senior managers and Councillors, and demonstrate problem solving initiatives where required across the whole of P&S.
The role provides an excellent overview of the County Council services and is targeted at candidates with great organisational and interpersonal skills, that are able to work to tight deadlines, and who have the flexibility to coordinate varied complex workstreams, pulling in technical expertise from across the organisation.

About youThe post holder will have project management skills and be able to identify project pressures and devise strategic solutions. Financial experience and familiarity with securing revenue and grant finances would be welcomed.
Excellent communication skills, including the confidence to negotiate, influence and challenge, will be required along with proven ability to write written reports in appropriate formats to suit the audience base.
Applicants with previous experience in Project Management, Senior Executive Assistance, or the coordination of multi-stakeholder, multi-specialist workstreams, may be well suited to this role.
