Join our team as a Project Manager at the RAF Benson helicopter training facility where you’ll be the critical interface between CAE and our customer, ensuring delivery of world-leading training services to the UK and partner militaries.
Our facility at RAF Benson is unique and contains the most up-to-date and high-tech simulator equipment, as well as a team of world class Instructors. You’ll be responsible for managing the delivery and negotiations of training service programmes, change orders, and new business opportunities.
Stakeholder management is critical for this role, you’ll interface between project teams, customers and the training school personnel. For this reason, we’re looking for an experienced project manager with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Your role will involve:
- Acting as the main point of contact with our external customer
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
- Leading the project teams and co-ordinating resources to produce and maintain project plans, ensuring consistent communication throughout
- Liaising with functional group leaders to manage people resources and capability
- Establishing and managing all technical, financial, commercial, and schedule risks
- Initiating project launch, establishing and controlling project budgets, reviewing design solutions and implementation
- Leading customer review meetings and managing customer acceptance process
- Leading regular project reviews and producing monthly status reports
- Establishing, developing, and managing partnerships with subcontractors
- Working closely with the Bids & Proposals team to support activities for major campaigns
- Developing project management processes and tools
What you’ll need:
- Project management experience (ideally within the defence/ aerospace/ military/ simulation & training or closely related industries)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management
- Good commercial and financial understanding
- While not essential, prior experience of our toolsets would be beneficial (Planiswere, Oracle)

What kind of person would succeed?
As you’ll be the face of CAE within the training facility, interpersonal skills is the most important thing. You’ll need to manage multiple stakeholders including the customers directly, project teams, functional teams, as well as being able to ‘manage upwards’. Being a confident decision maker is also essential as you’ll be empowered to use your judgement to best fulfil the customer requirements.

Salary: £55,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
