A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join our friendly team in our beautiful 350 acre Wildlife Park and Estate on the River Thames.
A Project Management job like no other, you will be working in an operational visitor attraction, home to over 100 species of animals and extensive gardens, and will be key to helping us achieve our ambitious plans in line with our strategic charitable aims.
We are in a time of fast-paced development and are looking for an innovative, experienced individual to lead and successfully deliver a series of projects across our Park and Estate.
As Project Manager you will work closely with the CEO and Heads of Departments to oversee a number of projects from inception, implementation to completion ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Some of the projects you could be involved with include: A gatehouse build, upgrading our electricity supply and securing our perimeter fencing to wayfinding, animal enclosure builds, farm barn and a covered play area.
Main Duties
- Lead and manage a variety of projects across the Wildlife Park and Estate, ensuring they meet Charitable objectives.
- Collaborate with Park Management and contractors to identify project requirements, delivery timelines and costs
- Determine and define project scope and objectives, predict resources needed and prepare overall budget and timeline based on scope of work.
- Produce and present high quality, detailed reports and plans for projects to both internal and external audience. Revise these as necessary based on changing needs and requirements.
- Manage project execution, procurement, resource deployment and overall coordination efforts to ensure projects are completed effectively and successfully
- Ensure the projects are completed to the required standard, within the given timescale, and delivery is cost effective and within budget.
- Provide concise and regular project status updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Develop excellent relationships with all project stakeholders, challenging decisions where necessary.
- Ensure that all project activities are safe and appropriately risk assessed, with all required paperwork and contracts complete prior to the commencement of any works. Actively identify and manage any risks throughout the duration of the project.
- Supervise and motivate other team members, including Volunteers, to achieve collective aims.
Experience and Personal Attributes
- 2 years’ experience in a Project Management role
- PRINCE2/ APM or equivalent qualification (desirable)
- IOSH or NEBOSH training required
- Solid understanding of CDM regulations
- Good understanding of project management lifecycles, processes and practices, including governance requirements
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring appropriate quality control
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Confident liaising with Senior Leaders, demonstrating experience of managing complex external stakeholder relationships
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to implement practical solutions.
- An appreciation of the constraints, requirements and sensitivities of working in an operational visitor attraction
- Skilled in the use of all key Microsoft packages
- Full Driving License
35 hours per week
