Project Manager (Inside IR35)
Contract Term: Until 31/12/2023
Contracting Authority: Ministry of Justice (MoJ)
Location: Hybrid & London or outside London – Remote.
The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government’s ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.
As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities would be:
· Define and document project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
· Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
· Effectively set and communicate project expectations to project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
· Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
· Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
· Develop a sound project plan that suitably identifies resources and project outputs.
· Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
· Take ownership and responsibility in terms of time, quality and cost for all assigned projects or workstreams in larger projects.
· Execute project lifecycle in accordance with in-house processes, embracing Agile project delivery.
· Take an active role in supporting procurement of third-party services and ensuring commercials are adequate for delivering.
· Provide effective risk management.
Essential / Skills Criteria
· A successful track record of managing projects, preferably in a public-sector environment.
· Proven ability to drive through significant change whilst maintaining strong client and internal relationships.
· Proven ability to perform consistently to tight timescales with a high degree of visibility.
· Experience of producing business cases and a working knowledge of Government business case approvals processes.
Desirable Skills
· Project Management Qualifications E.g. Prince 2, Agile etc.
