About us:
You will join the Airbus Communication Product Group (CPG) department which is responsible for the development and implementation of communication products (either processor or Radio Frequency (RF).
The Project Management team which is responsible for the telecoms satellites equipment deliveries by leading multifunctional project teams through the various project phases to achieve project objectives (time, scope, cost, quality) to the satisfaction of the customer.
Communication Products Group (CPG) is based in Stevenage and Portsmouth in the UK and Ottobrun in Germany, with a total headcount of around 300 people.
Within ADS Space Systems, the main aim of Communication Products is to develop and manufacture products that are strategically important for Telecommunication Systems (TST) satellite payloads.
CPG is a world-leader in digital signal processors and control systems for modern communications satellites. Our products connect ground stations, user terminals and satellite constellations for an expanding list of global operators. We work with European colleagues and suppliers around the world, leveraging the most advanced electronic and optical technologies to deliver the best performance for our customers.
Our purpose is to:
- Deliver our current generation of products on-quality, on-time, on cost (OQOTOC);
- Reshape the business to enable the products to be more competitive, using subcontracting and also lean approaches;
- Deliver the next generation of products to support the rapidly evolving market with the major focus on Cost per Bit.
What you will be doing:
The activities you may undertake during the placement year will vary between:
- Work closely with our PMO analyst, supporting the project management office by assisting with project activities;
- Report general day to day support activities;
- Coordinate with all necessary teams and third parties to ensure the projects tasks are moving forward;
- Highlight timely issues to the CPG Head of Projects so that governance is followed for all projects;
- Once you will gain confidence in the CPG project management processes and tools you will also support PMs in the day to day activities.
About you:
Our placements are open to Undergraduates only . Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Studying towards a degree that includes modules like Project Management, and Electronics (hardware and software);
- Able to demonstrate Leadership and management skills.
- Keen to learn new things.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check).
