Reporting to the Operations Director, the Project Engineering Manager is responsible for managing a project team to ensure major capital project delivery. This includes all aspects of projects from requirements definition through to completion and stabilisation planning, working cross-functionally to ensure key decisions are made and projects are executed effectively. The role also has responsibility for driving critical, complex, and cross-functional initiatives that support the organisation’s strategic plans. It involves creating and maintaining project documentation and detailed, comprehensive project plans. Also responsible for proactively identifying and managing risks and issues, escalating them as necessary.MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage projects of complexity from requirements definition to post implementation review, ensuring projects are technically fit for purpose and meet statutory requirements.
- Establish short and long-term program objectives and ensure project teams are able and equipped to meet the objectives.
- Build effective cross functional relationships with project teams and stakeholders who all strive for successful project outcomes.
- Maintain the accuracy of project plans amidst changes in scope, task definition, resource estimates.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks and escalate in a clear and timely manner, ensuring all parties are aligned on outcomes, capabilities and limitations.
- Report on project performance against baseline plan and stated benefits of the project.
- Guide project teams to find solutions that are effective and meet business needs.
- Active management of the project scope throughout the project.
- Track progress and ensure effective ongoing and post project reviews take place to learn from experience.
- Ensure processes are documented effectively.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS
- Demonstrated skill as a change agent successfully leading Company wide projects.
- Extensive Program/Project management experience
- Experience of manufacturing build.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required with great attention to detail.
- Ability to successfully lead and participate on cross-functional teams, effectively interacting at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to lead 3rd party teams and contractors.
- Complex project management and organisational skills.
- Deadline-oriented with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to connect with and influence people across cultures and multiple business units.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Deep understanding of MS Office (Project, Excel, Word, PPT, Access, Visio.
- Advanced level of 2D and 3D Autocad.
- Factory 4.0 experience advantageous.
