As a result of recent successes and the development of new projects and clients, Stantec are looking to grow our Design Services team by recruiting a Mechanical Project Engineer into our Energy & Resources team. This would be a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking consultancy and to play a part in how we transition towards a lower carbon future.
This role can be based from either our High Wycombe, Newcastle, Warrington or Redditch offices – with hybrid working allowing for a mix of home- and office working.
In this role you will be involved in the whole project life cycle, from optioneering through to detailed design and installation. You will be involved with feasibility studies, site surveys and investigations. You will work collaboratively with clients, partners and other team members to develop designs and project-wide solutions across a wide variety of projects across Stantec’s Energy and Resources sector.
Over the years, Stantec has developed a reputation as a progressive and forward-thinking consultancy through the consistent and repeated delivery of high-quality work to our clients. Our work in the energy and resources sector includes iconic hydro power and pumped storage schemes, conventional and advanced thermal power generation, recycling systems and mining and minerals.
From traditional advisory and owners engineer roles we are now rapidly becoming established in the EPCm and design services role for major new build projects such as plastics recycling, renewables power generation and complex treatment/production facilities. Our current portfolio includes design advice on conventional EfW plants, gasification projects, hydrogen generation schemes and multiple biogas production projects.

About You
You will have experience within Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and be either chartered or be working towards chartered status.
Our team are routinely engaged in producing technical specifications, schedules and reports. We support collaborative design outputs, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams. You should have a good understanding of a number of these activities and be happy to communicate technical updates to clients and team members.
Our team will be expected to create specifications and scoping documents for award of construction packages and assess vendor designs and progress.Ideally you would demonstrate some experience in these areas.
