PROJECT ENGINEER (Mechanical or Electrical) – Nr East Grinstead
Trant Engineering have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join the team, working on a prestigious £40m NEW BUILD water & process project (clean water) that will run into 2026, located in East Grinstead.
Trant Engineering are a hugely successful civil engineering EPC delivering complex turnkey engineering projects in sectors such as Process & Water, Energy, Defence, Oil & Gas and Nuclear.

The Role
The Project Engineer role is available on a permanent or contract basis. For contract employees the role would be outside IR35.
The Project Engineer will part of a multi-disciplinary team on a £40m Design & Build clean water project in East Sussex.
The Project Engineer should have a background of working within the water industry as well as a background in either mechanical or electrical. You will be reporting to a Project Manager and will be responsible for supporting all technical and commercial aspects of Electrical and Mechanical aspects on site.
Responsibilities
- Attend internal and external design review and progress meetings.
- Produce and review electrical & mechanical design documentation.
- Produce specifications and outline designs.
- Procurement of Electrical & Mechanical Equipment and support for subcontract procurement.
- Ensure that site installation works and quality match both design and appropriate industry standards.
- Record and Review as-built information.
- Production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Programme Updates.
- Procurement schedules.
Qualification/Competency
- Degree or HND/HNC in either Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Chemical/Process Engineering.
- Water Engineering background preferred but not essential.
- Good working Knowledge of Safety, Health Environment and Quality Procedures.
- Microsoft Office and CAD packages.
- Good appreciation of Excel to a ‘Higher’ level.
