Job description
We are recruiting a Vehicle Dynamics Project Engineer to join our team. This role is for a vehicle Dynamics engineer who is able to work as part of the wider Vehicle Dynamics team to deliver external customer projects for the attribute, providing test, development and analysis capability.
The role will operate as part of the Vehicle Dynamics team under the technical guidance of the Vehicle Dynamics Chief Engineer
The role will be highly customer focused, being the point of contact and technical lead for the project, representing HORIBA MIRA both in the UK and at times abroad. This role will be based at the MIRA Technology Park but may involve travel
Essential Experience
- A track record in automotive vehicle dynamics testing and development.
- 5+ years experience as a vehicle dynamics engineer
Preferred Experience
- Working within an Automotive OEM, tier 1 supplier or consultancy.
- Experience of control systems such as SCS, EPAS and AEB
Skills
- The role will require the candidate to deliver customer projects, either as part of a standalone Vehicle Dynamics development project or supporting a complete vehicle development program.
- The candidate will need a broad range of knowledge in vehicle level attribute testing, development, and analysis across the complete engineering spectrum:
- Competitor benchmarking
- Supporting the target setting and cascade process
- Vehicle level testing, development and signoff
- The candidate will be experienced in the subjective evaluation and objective measurement of the vehicle dynamics attribute to quantify the vehicle performance to support the development direction.
- Project administration will be required to maintain timing plans, monitor project progress against contracted deliverables and comply with MIRAs quality policy
- The candidate must be a confident and effective communicator, keeping our clients and internal stakeholders informed of the project progress. This will be delivered through written, presentation and face to face communication skills.
Essential Qualifications
- Engineering degree in appropriate discipline (ie Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or a similar scope)
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer, CEng MIMechE or equivalent
- Masters degree.
- HGV and other vehicle licenses
