Humberside / East Yorkshire
6 Months contract (Outside IR35 – Ltd Co. suitable)
Rates: £45.00 - £50.00 p/h DOE
Mechanical equipment / Chemical process / project / calculations
I am recruiting for a major key client in Humberside located ideally to the Scunthorpe and Grimsby area. They are a global specialised chemical company with their headquarters based in Humberside. They are now recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer to work on a number of key projects and to start ASAP.
The successful Mechanical Project Engineer will conduct the following duties:
v Responsible for providing mechanical expertise to oversee & support the design, installation and commissioning of capital projects and significant modifications
v Working knowledge of current legislation and statutory requirements including Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations, BSEN61508/11, SIL determination, COMAH or other safety case regulations
v The ability to read or produce engineering drawings, P&IDs and trip schedules
v Ability to obtain and analyse a wide variety of quantitative and qualitative data
v Preparation of contract documents for installation works and Contract Management of Field Installation work
v Ability to assist in resolution of site installation issues, also assisting where necessary in Field commissioning work/ final handover
The successful Mechanical Project Engineer will have the following attributes:
- The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
- Experience of working within a Project Engineering environment and be familiar with project management principles and tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills including 6 Sigma, RCA, FEMA and RCM
- Experience with cost estimation processes and budget controls
- Experience of process plant applications, DCS Systems, instrumentation specification and procurement (pressure, flow, temperature, density, level etc, control valves and positioners, process analysers) would be an advantage
- Good communication skills, self-motivation and the ability to learn and apply new skills
- You will ideally have knowledge of working within a COMAH environment
