About the role
As the Project Engineer you will be responsible for leading and delivering O&M services in our Asset Management Department to offshore renewable energy assets. Principal services include work on HV equipment and networks in wind turbines, and also supporting on OFTO (offshore electricity transmission) assets including onshore and offshore substations and export cables. You will mainly support assets in the UK, but services may also be delivered in other locations in Europe and beyond. You will play a key role in ensuring that these services are delivered safely and in accordance with contractual and regulatory standards and specifications.

We look after anything from wind turbine HV switch gear and transformers all the way up to full operations & asset management of OFTO High Voltage Transmission Assets, which include Offshore & onshore substations, HV network, ancillary systems, (e.g. HVAC, cranes, lighting, diesel generators).
Accountabilities
Supporting the Asset Management team in the delivery of operation and maintenance services, your responsibilities will include:
- Execute & manage HV maintenance activities including inspections, protection testing, oil sampling, data collection, equipment repair/replacement as per OEM requirements.
- Operate as a Senior Authorised Person at 33/66kV under the EDS (and specific Clients when required) Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules to achieve Safety from the System
- Co-ordination of activities to deliver the maintenance program including ensuring that sufficient resource & appropriate tools/equipment are allocated for the work packages and RAMS are requested/created and reviewed in a timely manner.
- Planning of work scopes by way of effective communication with EDS HV Management, Marine Co-Ordinator and Vessel Operators.
- Complete maintenance reports, update site asset management systems and liaison with Asset Management Team for upcoming and completed work.
- Support the Company through developing & maintaining a strong relationship with Clients & ensuring that the highest quality service is delivered.
- Develop & Mentor other engineering staff.
- Management & minimising of costs through planning ahead & cost comparison (e.g., synchronize work packages, equipment purchase / rental, travel costs).
OnCall: You will be required to participate in a call out rota to provide emergency response outside of normal working hours.
Skills and Experience
- Experience working as an SAP at 33/66kV – both onshore & offshore on wind turbines
- Extensive experience as a Project/Operations Engineer on the Operation & Maintenance of High Voltage Networks and Equipment
- Experience in fault response, location & repair management.
- Solution oriented approach & able to prioritise work packages.
- A self-starter who is adept at working with cross-functional teams.
- Highly personable with customer management skills.
- Previous offshore experience desired
- IT Literate.
- Full UK driving license.
Qualifications
- An HND/HNC in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent qualification, but background in technical discipline
- Time served apprenticeship.
- GWO Training (desirable, however full training will be given) but you must have the ability to meet the requirements of GWO Offshore Medical and Basic Safety Training
