Job description

As a Project Designer, you will play a crucial role in designing remarkable stores that uphold the Starbucks Customer Experience while meeting cost, schedule, and operational requirements. You will collaborate with a team of talented professionals and external consultants to bring our design vision to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop schematic and design development drawings, along with selecting palettes, under the guidance of the design manager.
  • Manage the production of design documents by external designers and consultants, ensuring adherence to scope of work, needs, and code requirements.
  • Review drawings for design intent and detail coordination.
  • Conduct site visits as required, under the guidance of the design manager.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, participating in periodic schematic and design reviews.
  • Lead periodic market tours and take initiative in exploring innovative design solutions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in retail and/or brand design.
  • Proficiency in CAD drafting and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Skilled in creating and delivering compelling PowerPoint presentations.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Ability to manage design consultants and foster relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design or equivalent field.
  • Proficient in sketching conceptual layouts and technical drawings.
  • Clear and concise communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong visualization skills in 2D and 3D.
  • Familiarity with color and design principles.
  • Ability to execute multiple designs within tight deadlines.
  • Effective visual, written, and verbal communication of design concepts.
  • Translate design principles into unique store locations.
  • Experience with VectorWorks is a plus.
