Our parent company, Der Touristik UK, are looking for a Senior Project Delivery Manager to manage and coordinate projects in order to drive success and meet our ambitious future goals.

Der Touristik UK includes the much-celebrated brands Kuoni, Carrier, CV Villas, Kirker, Jules Verne and Journeys Latin America.

This role will be responsible for managing the scope and fulfilment of specific projects for individual brands alongside more prominent projects which span across a number of the businesses in order to create organisational efficiencies and synergies.

We are looking for an individual with vast experience of managing multiple and complex projects alongside a background within the travel industry.

The role will ideally be based in Dorking, with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week.

Role Overview

The Business Project Delivery Manager manages and coordinates projects to meet the needs of the organisations business goals and targets. Responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. You will plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way. You will manage complex projects ensuring deliverables are achieved. The successful Project Delivery Manager strikes a harmonious balance between being a gatekeeper (ensuring that demand is objectively assessed before it moves to execution) and being a driving force for the business to meet its (sometimes ambitious) goals.

What youll be doing

  • Manage multiple projects/ workstreams through the full project lifecycle.
  • Determine and define project scope and objectives.
  • Agree and document project scope, providing clear identification of the four main sections: initiation, planning, execution, and closure.
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner, securing and assigning the right resource to the right tasks.
  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements and track project costs in order to meet agreed budgets.
  • Ensure all material risks and issues are reported and escalated appropriately.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan. monitor progress and adjust as needed.
  • Develop and maintain project management standards, including standard implementation methodologies.
  • Ensure effective stakeholder management and project communication to the business; provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Provide effective updates to Senior Management.
  • Consult, support, engage and coach project teams, made up of resources from business departments from all levels.
  • Provide project expertise and support to the business operational teams.
  • Oversee the involvement of any third-party partners, ensuring they meet our quality, cost and timing goals.
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Be a driver of sound and effective project governance across all workstreams.
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends and technological innovations relevant to the business objectives.
  • Coach, motivate and offer practical guidance to all members of the team so that they are able to meet personal goals.
  • Actively collaborate with other departments to ensure supplier relationships are well managed and consistent.
  • Be positive in undertaking any reasonable duties relevant to the position to ensure the success of the operation.

You will have

Essential

  • In-depth project management and related experience
  • A background of project management in the travel industry
  • Demonstrates a track record of successfully delivering complex business change and transition project work
  • Experience of managing large scale business projects with senior business stakeholders
  • People management experience
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience of presenting at a senior level to show project progress and status
  • Commercial acumen, able to assess data, draw conclusions and propose actions based on detailed analysis
  • Ability to drive change and new ways of thinking across the business
  • Proven ability to motivate, enthuse and lead a team; thrives during periods of pressure and high volume of work and able to create an upbeat, motivating environment
  • Experience of collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to use constructive feedback techniques
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
