Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.
Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontario and have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the Northwest Ontario, are assets. About The Role
Title: Project Coordinator
Schedule: 14 Days On / 14 Days Off - FIFO, 12 hours per day
Position Reports To: Construction Manager
Position Overview
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Project Coordinator provides technical and administrative support to ensure construction activities comply with all contract documents, engineering standards, codes, specifications, and drawings.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are being followed and maintained through each phase of construction
Prepare and review construction scopes of work and work plans
Establish a thorough knowledge of the drawings and specifications, execution plans, work schedules, production targets and procedures
Provide concept engineering and offer alternatives for construction
Identify deficiencies in construction design and recommends solutions
Coordinate with the Capital Projects team, contractors and other departments as necessary
Ensure the quantity and quality of the scopes are compliant with the contract documents
Report daily construction activities and identify and quantify issues with contract document impact
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
Preferably 3-5 years of experience working on heavy civil projects
Must possess effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities
Thorough knowledge of civil construction engineering including coordination and supervision of civil construction contractors
Demonstrative skills as a productive and collaborative member of a multidisciplinary team
