Job description
Due to business growth, we are currently recruiting for a Project Coordinator with an engineering background to work Monday-Friday for a leading engineering company which specialises in heat exchangers based in East Boldon. Early Friday finish on offer plus other great benefits!!!
This Project Coordinator role is a permanent position working Monday – Thursday 7.30am-4.15pm and Friday 7.30am-12.30pm (38 hours per week). Competitive salary on offer.
As Project Coordinator you will be working with a project team of 5 reporting to the Operations Manager. Key duties will be involved.
Liaising with high profile and high value customers providing regular updates on the project status
Liaising with vendors and suppliers to gain an update of supplies
Attend update meetings with the Operations team to gain an understanding of risks, which may affect forecasting figures
Obtain supplier quotes and estimate of labour hours
Coordinate team activities and conduct contract management tasks
Participate and complete heat exchanger assessments and cost estimates
Complete supplier purchase orders and progress collections and deliveries
Issue work instructions (including occasionally Inspection & Test Plans) and other documentation work record requirements
Coordinate welding, NDT, machining, and other services
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
Previous experience working as a Project Coordinator, Junior Project Manager or similar with an engineering background
Good knowledge of engineering activities such a welding, fabrication, and piping is required
Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and Microsoft Project
Ability to read engineering drawings
Be highly organised and have good communications skills
