We are now recruiting for a Project Controls Specialist to join us permanently on our major project located in Reading. With this role you have the chance to join one the largest decommissioning project portfolios within the UK. Within this portfolio, Amentum are responsible for delivering a range of EPC and Decommissioning projects. This role is specifically held within our PMO team, we want to build the team to be able to apply standards and process to enable the projects to deliver in a successful manner.
We are looking for a candidate who has the skills and experience within the Planning and Cost functions, who has the confidence to work with PCM’s and Project Managers and challenge the way projects are setup and recommend improvement, work with the projects to see the benefits of these improvements and implement change for the better of the business.
Responsibilities:
1.Provide critical path analysis, identify problem areas, and create work-around solutions.
2.Timely create and maintain project cost report.
3.Report on project engineering performance using earned value analysis.
4.Establish project budgets from proposal estimate, track committed costs, and forecast remaining costs for engineering, equipment procurement, and construction subcontracts.
5.Develop and maintain project cash flow.
6.Responsible for project contingency and revenue allocation and planning.
7.Prepare and submit monthly reports for internal and external clients.
8.Advises team on matters affecting project success, schedule and cost impacts, and develops project recovery plans.
9.Part of the project management team assisting in meeting project deadlines.
10.Develop and maintain change management program.
11.Identify out of scope work items and create change order requests to be presented to client, including estimated cost and schedule impacts.
12.Review and recommend action on change order claims from subcontractors.
13.Within area of responsibility, consistently identifies potential project problems or opportunities in a proactive manner, analyzes the issues using all appropriate resources, develops alternatives and arrives at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.
14.Interface with internal project teams and external clients.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Ideally degree qualified (but not essential) in engineering, construction, business or related field or demonstrated equivalent and related experience
A candidate with experience working with Project teams on a daily basis with the confidence and experience in implementing positive change in process and standards
Able to travel as needed for project meetings, site investigations, and vendor or subcontractor meetings.
Remote based role with a requirement to travel to Reading on a monthly basis.
Currently hold SC or prepared to go through the SC process.
