Job Description:
- Permanent
- Full Time (40 hours pw, Monday to Friday)
- Based in Manchester City centre but with a hybrid Studio / Remote working pattern

This role is to offer broad Commercial Project Accounting support to our team of architects and technology consultants allowing them to manage their projects more effectively. The role will also provide support to the Head of Business Partnering with monthly financial and commercial reporting.
You will work alongside the finance team, project managers and sectoral leads, analysing and forecasting project cost, revenue and profit. Key to your success will be technical ability, a commercial background and the skills and consultative style to work in true partnership with colleagues at all levels.
Overall focus is to ensure business and sector performance is accurately reported, monitored and analysed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Day to day support to the project managers to ensure that the projects are kept up to date and accurately reported in the ERP system
- Update the forecast fees regularly for committed, probable and possible revenues forecast for future months
- Ad hoc support to the Financial Controller and the wider finance team
- Assist Financial Controller and Finance Director in the preparation of cash flow forecasts and annual budgets
- Ensure timesheets are completed and assist wider management in monitoring outstanding timesheets to improve forecast accuracy
- Prepare the necessary project revenue reports for the annual audit process
- To collaborate with the other Project Accountants and the wider finance team to ensure that best, consistent practice is delivered to the UK business at all times
Skills and Qualifications:
A part or qualified accountant with experience of working commercially and engaging with non-financial colleagues and disciplines- Experience in assisting business and project managers in forecasting long term project profitability in the service sector also desirable
- Analytical skills to understand and accurately report contract revenues and costs
- Tenacious approach to accurate reporting and analysis
- Ability to liaise and converse with colleagues at all levels across the organisation with a consultative and empathetic approach
- Commitment to meeting demanding deadlines, a professional manner and resilience
- Advanced Excel capability is essential
- Experience of working with an ERP system
