Overview
16 hours p/w, £11 per hour (£9152 per annum in year 1.)
Fixed term until 5th April 2026, with possibility of extension.
2Funky Arts is a not-for-profit social enterprise, based in Leicester City Centre – championing excellence in Black music and arts. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced and hard-working Administration Assistant. 2Funky Arts has been confirmed as a National Portfolio Organisation as part of Arts Council England’s 2023-6 investment programme, and this post is part of a team expansion.

Based in Leicester, 2Funky Arts manages collaborative programmes of artist and community engagement. Since 2007, 2FA has pioneered bringing new artists to prominence, developed emerging talent, & advocated nationally for the iconic value of Black music.

Job Description
Key Tasks:
- Deputise for the Project Manager where required.
- Gathering quotes for venue hire, equipment and contractors.
- Following up correspondence with artists, programmers and participants.
- Gathering information on technical specifications and other artist requirements.
- Ensuring all access and support needs are explored and participants and artists supported.
- Helping to arrange refreshments and travel for participants and artists.
- Complete mini reports for board of monthly activities.
- Working with a variety of partners and artists.
- Assist artists at projects, to ensure adequate supervision of participants is provided.
- Conduct vox pops and interviews with audience members and participants (on site and on the phone), to gather feedback evidence.
- Ensuring all participants are aware of project arrangements.
- Complete small grant applications.
- Researching grant providers.
- Providing assistance to the running of Radio2Funky.
- Undertake any other relevant duties as required, in keeping with the above level of responsibility.
Person Specification
Essential
- Good basic education to GCSE standard or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in MS Office packages.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise your workload, work flexibly, keep to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience of working with a wide range of people.
- Knowledge of Equality and Diversity.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Willingness to undergo DBS clearance and training.
- Permission to work in the UK.
- A commitment to inclusion and diversity.
Desirable
- At least 1 years’ experience in assisting as part of projects, preferably within arts or community activities.
- Experience of assisting in events management, either in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- Experience in administering financial records.
- Educated to at least A Level standard (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- A passion for arts and heritage
- Knowledge and understanding of managing data confidentially and sensitively (guidance provided).
- Experience in feedback collection (guidance provided).
- Experience of working with volunteers (guidance provided).
- Experience of partnership working (guidance provided).
- Knowledge of health & safety principles (training given).
- Experience and understanding of safeguarding (training given).
