Job description

Visu Verum Construction is a commercial and residential development company. The projects range from new builds, extensions and commercial fit outs. The candidate will be based in our Surrey or London offices/sites.

As well as having a natural design flair, the ideal candidate will have experience in managing a project from start to finish. This individual should also have experience managing people and be an effective communicator.

Key Responsibilities

· Produce schemes/sketches and 3D images at early design stages with knowledge of what is achievable on the site

· Liaise with the Quantity Surveyor and Project Managers on materials take offs.

· Prepare planning applications ensuring all requirements are met with the client and Local Authority

· Submit and track planning applications and discuss matters with the Local Authority keeping the team and client updated

· Prepare working drawings including bathroom designs

· Produce 3D designs through SketchUp (or another software)

· Be aware of any design issues that could cause financial risk during construction and be competent on how to tackle the issues that arise

· Prepare specification documents in line with the drawings

· Visit site regularly to liaise with the subcontractors to solve any issues or queries

· Work with the Project Manager closely to ensure the project is running smoothly and understand the construction programme

· Ensure the latest drawings and programmes are onsite and issued via email to the team

· Store and upload drawings to the Drawing Register

· Review and coordinate specialist drawings and services

· Lead the team and conduct client meetings to report on the project at all stages

Technical Abilities

· Strong client engagement skills and experience

· Profound working knowledge of the Planning policies and building regulations (Elmbridge/Kingston/Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea experience would be beneficial)

· ARB / RIBA Qualified

· Proficient in AutoCAD (essential), with experience in Sketchup beneficial

Personal Attributes

· Be able to multi task and be highly organised

· Minimum 4 years Post Qualification Experience

· A positive “can do” attitude

· Ability to develop and present solutions to difficult issues

· Must have a full driving license and a vehicle

· Excellent communication and presentation skills

· Ability to create good working relationships with the team and stakeholders

· Ability to work calmly under pressure

· Have an outstanding attention for detail and enjoy the creative design aspect to this role

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £44,000.00-£48,000.00 per year

Schedule:
