Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The person in this position is employed to assist the on and off site/on site project construction and management/administrative team with the coordination of activity and administration of any single and/or multiple construction projects from development through construction close out and ongoing servicing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including but not limited to):
 Strong written and oral communication skills
 Computer literacy with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Outlook o Procore and Smartsheet preferred
 A strong working knowledge of construction methods and practices
 Familiarity with Cal-OSHA
 The ability to interpret construction documents (plans, specifications, contracts)
 Adhere to and enforce all company policies and Cal-OSHA safety standards
 Maintain a neat and professional appearance and demeanor
 Possess a valid California Driver’s License
 Able to walk the construction sites to conduct daily inspections, observations, quality, control assessments, etc.

Project Administration;
 Assist the project manager and/or build team with project preparation and start up
 Assist the project manager and/or build team in the preparation of subcontracts
 Assist the project manager and/or build team with project administrative duties such as subcontractor management, schedule tracking, bidding, budget tracking, AP/AR activities specific to the project, preparation of change orders and execution of same, prepare and distribute project progress reports, prepare and distribute project meeting agendas/directives/minutes, etc…
 Assist the project manager and/or build team in assembling and preparing samples and distribute submittal packages.
 Assist the project manager in overseeing project team on a daily basis for build out
 Assist the project manager and/or build team assemble deliverables for project close out (as builds, permit files, compliance letters/certifications, warranty and maintenance binder/program, etc…)

Project Estimating;
 Assist the project manager and/or build team review project documents for accuracy, completeness, and familiarity
 Assist the project manager and/or build team prepare / distribute / track RFP’s
 Assist the project manager and/or build team perform in house take off’s
 Assist the project manager and/or build team create and distribute RFI’S as needed
 Assist the project manager and/or build team qualify subcontractor and/or vendors proposals to ensure accuracy and completeness
 Assist the project manager and/or build team in the preparation of project proposals (budget spreadsheets, scope qualifications, schedule, project specific documents for presentation, etc.)

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 Copies, errands, ordering as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS:
 Must be able to read with comprehension and write legibly in English
 Must understand intermediate math functions including Algebraic and Geometric equations as would be learned at a High School level
 Must be able to evaluate quotes against a control budget
 Must be able to interpret a variety of technical instructions as they relate to the construction process
 Must be able to draw valid conclusions from presented facts
 Must be able to communicate clearly
 Outstanding organization skills
 Maintain confidentiality

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION:
 5-10 years’ experience or equivalent preferred
 Previous experience preferred

JOB CONDITIONS:
 Assist the project management and/or build team at site job walks/meetings/project build/project close out.
 Jobsites are unpredictable. Employee must be able to work occasionally in extreme temperatures ranging from 30 degrees F to 110 degrees F in wet or dry conditions.
