Raba Kistner is seeking a detailed-oriented, dependableProject Accountto join our team in the Houstonarea. The Project Accountant provides essential accounting functions for the numerous client projects, working closely with other departments, clients and vendors. The role is key to ensuring accurate and timely reporting on project revenues and costs, while supporting business and client requirements. Other responsibilitiesinclude:

  • Coordinate with project and business managers on client proposal, projects and related billings providing accounting support.
  • Responsible for project set-up, expense and revenue capture, budget reviews, and timely invoicing on each project using the project accounting system BST within established billing and accounting deadlines.
  • Participates in monthly financial review with project team, including preparation and review of reports.
  • Responsible for project maintenance, including rates changes and change orders,
  • Responsible for project closure, ensuring all requirements are completed, which may include WIP write offs, write ups along with any billing or collection issues.
  • Generates ad hoc project accounting reports, as requested.
  • Support corporate project accounting team with accounting initiatives and coverage when team members are on PTO.
  • Fosters positive relationships with clients, vendors and employees.
  • Reviews client contracts to ensure proper accounting and compliance on client invoicing.
  • Supports accounting period end activities for financial close and audit requests, as other duties as needed.
  • Assist in collections of client invoices, and if needed cash application of client payments.
  • Assist in processing and reviewing vendor invoices, recording accruals as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree inaccounting, a business-relatedfield or commensurate experience.At least 2 years of work-relatedexperience, preferable in the professional services industry.Good oral and written communication skills and ability to work in teams at different levels within organization. Intermediate in Microsoft Excel and Word, Google Drive, and 10-key skills.Ability to learn and become a proficient user of the accounting system and other software. Previous experience with BST or accounting systems preferred.Must be a self-motivated with good attendance record, able to work independently, and able to work flexible hours. Ability to learn the accounting system and other software, while becoming a skilled user. Previous experience with accounting systems preferred.Good organizational skills to utilize firm’s resources efficiently and effectively.Ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet strict deadlines.Ability to produce reports in an accurate manner.Must be responsible, dependable, and accurate.Ability to prioritize and efficiently handle multiple tasks.Must be self-motivated and have ability to work independently.Works well with all levels of people and is a team player.Ability to read and understand instructions, reports, etc.
