Grant Accountant

Position Summary
The Grant Accountant prepares financial reports and analyses for grants/contracts, and other restricted funds. Reviews transactions and monitors compliance with agency guidelines. Reconciles accounts and prepares necessary adjusting entries.

Prepares and maintains schedule of fiscal reporting deadlines.- Insures timely submission of financial reports to grantors and donors.
- Reviews grant transactions monthly and prepares updates summary grant financial schedule for Vice President.
- Insures accuracy of accounting records.
- Prepares and submits required billing reports for agencies to reimburse Livingstone College.
- Reviews project financial statements and reports with Project Directors/Director of Sponsored Programs.
- Establishes and maintains grant and restricted: endowment fund files.
- Prepare and insures budgets are complete.
- Reconciles expenditures for grants with Office of Sponsored Programs quarterly.
- Prepares adjusting entries needed to correct accounts.
- Prepares ad hoc reports and analyses requested by senior management.
- Prepares necessary reports for audit preparations
- Prepares and assists with month-end and year-end closing entries.
- Contacts/meets with project directors, agency officials and others to resolve concerns and discrepancies related to grant and restricted fund transactions.
- Serves as back-up for senior accountant.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
