Job description

Role Summary:

Greystar will be commencing a Yardi Investment Management (Yardi IM) implementation project. It is envisaged this role will be a hybrid role, split as a senior project accountant and also senior portfolio accountant for selected portfolios.

Project:

Support the project as a key contact, providing portfolio information, testing, participating in project groups. This role will also provide backfill support for portfolio senior Investment Accountants, during key reporting periods, where they are required to move to project work as subject matter specialist on portfolios.

Portfolio financial reporting:

Taking ownership of investment accounting across key European property portfolios, working with various head office teams, external advisors, as well as partnering with key stakeholders across the business.


JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Role Responsibilities:

Project

  • Participate in Yardi IM project elements, including Design, Build, Deploy
  • Supporting Third party provider in answering queries and delivering requests
  • Participate in Testing and Training sessions.
  • Communicate project status’s to Financial Controller and Finance Director and other stakeholders

Portfolio financial reporting:

  • Oversight and preparation of month-end and quarter end reporting packs and year-end reporting activities for offshore holding entities, including reports and supporting schedules for all balance sheet line items and commentary on profit and loss line items.
  • Monthly consolidations across multi-property portfolios in Student and/ or PRS special purpose vehicles.
  • Preparation/review of accruals, prepayments, and posting of journal entries.
  • Cash management, including review of bank reconciliations, forecasts, and payment approvals.
  • Preparation and management of quarterly or ad hoc intra-group distribution and capital call waterfalls, including monitoring of cash balances and knowledge of capital expenditure budgets.
  • Preparation/ review of investor capital calls and distributions, liaising with Portfolio Management, Investor Relations, Operational and Corporate Accounting and Administrators as required.
  • Quarterly lender reporting including cash waterfalls, compliance certificates and covenant calculations.
  • Managing and finance feed to investor reporting process, providing financial tables and charts and consolidated budget variance analysis commentary.
  • Delivery of specific and periodic investor portal reporting requirements
  • Preparation/ review of multiple consolidated audited financial statements within investor and lender reporting deadlines, for Student and PRS portfolios.
  • Preparation/review of subsidiary audited and unaudited financial statements and supporting schedules for Student and/ or PRS portfolios.
  • Key component with year-end audits.
  • Preparation of accounting memos on all technical accounting changes.
  • Knowledge of structure agreements, including lender requirements, investor requirements and external reporting requirements.
  • Transition of completed developments from the development accounting team.
  • Calculation of investment level management fees.
  • Review of annual Tax Computations for offshore holding entities.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and re-forecasting for offshore holding entities.

Organisational Responsibilities:

  • Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organisational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).
  • Identifies areas for improvement, offers suggestions to improve efficiency and productivity, and implements ideas that achieve operational excellence.
  • Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training classe

About You

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Experience with Yardi and Yardi IM (essential).
  • Project best practice knowledge. Project qualification (desirable)
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant (essential).
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines and multi-tasking are essential, using initiative to prioritise

Experience & Skills:

  • Experience working with Yardi and Yardi IM
  • Sound knowledge of Accounting GAAPs, IFRS and Audit
  • Experience working within the Real Estate sector
  • Debt compliance and investor reporting experience
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to interpret and explain complex financial data
  • Positive “can do” attitude with desire to learn, train and develop in the role
  • Excellent attention to detail, methodical and takes pride in work
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to grow within the role
  • Strong time management skills to organize a multitude of concurrent tasks
  • Experience working with off-shore real estate structures
