Description
Burlingame Aquatic Club (BAC) is recruiting for a full-time Programs Director who will contribute to a collaborative work environment by assisting the Executive Director. The Programs Director will take the lead on designing and implementing a class leading year round swim school, as well as other programs and classes. The Programs Director will also lead the training and supervision of part time employees for their designated programs, act as the office manager for
BAC, and also assist competitive programs administratively as needed.
This application is for full-time employment only and is eligible for the benefits described below.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal Programs Director will:
● Have the background, experience, and willingness to learn necessary to continue building BAC's class-leading year round swim school program.
● Possess leadership skills to train and lead a diverse team of instructors, front desk workers, and camp counselors responsible for program implementation. Plan, organize, assign, schedule, supervise, and review the work of assigned staff to deliver high-quality community services to the public; ensure assigned staff are properly trained in program operations; motivate assigned staff to perform at high levels; set performance goals and measurements with the help of the Executive Director.
● Be able to communicate swiftly and effectively. Maintain excellent communication with program participants; receive and respond to patron complaints and inquiries; explain and enforce policies and procedures; promote awareness to prospective patrons; celebrate success internally and with the community.
● Become a master of CivicRec and TeamUnify, BAC’s two registration platforms.
● Manage front desk operations. Train part time employees on front desk operations surrounding community programs and ensure patrons always have a friendly and knowledgeable staff member to greet them.
● Possess great organizational skills and teamwork ability. Build excellent working relationships with coworkers and patrons. Manage time and workload in a fast-paced environment; meet multiple deadlines; achieve performance goals and results through the work of others; contribute to and implement team-oriented projects and tasks.
● Provide administrative support, develop reports, assemble materials, compose documents, retrieve and research information, update patron information, and compile statistics.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
● Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in nonprofit management, political science and government, recreation, kinesiology, or a related field.
● Two years of experience supervising recreation, sports, or youth programs.
● Additional related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Licenses and Certifications
● Possession of a valid California driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
● Possession of a valid Red Cross Lifeguard certification, or completion of certification within 90 days of hire.
● Possession of a valid Red Cross LGI and WSI certifications highly desirable.

Burlingame Aquatic Club offers a benefit package consisting of:
● Health Care Benefits: BAC offers medical insurance coverage for all regular employees who work full-time. Acceptance of BAC’s medical insurance is optional, although should an employee decline medical insurance they are not eligible for any additional benefits as replacement. All new employees must wait 30 days before becoming eligible for medical benefits; medical insurance will then commence on the following 1stof the month. BAC allows enrollment in its medical insurance program to the spouses, dependents, and domestic partners of all full-time, regular employees who are enrolled in BAC’s medical insurance program. All costs associated with the enrollment of spouses, dependents, and domestic partners shall be the full responsibility of the employee.
● Employee Discounts: Offered to employees after three months of employment. Full-time employees and their spouses and children receive a 100% discount on all BAC programs. They must pay the full amount for any non-BAC fees that are associated with select programs (US Masters Swimming Membership, USA Water Polo Membership, etc).
● Vacation: BAC offers a standard vacation package to full-time employees.
● Sick Leave: BAC offers sick leave in compliance with CA regulations.
● Retirement: BAC offers retirement options in compliance with CA regulations.
Compensation
The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $65,000-$70,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
