We are looking to recruit a Programme Officer (Research) to join the Education Support Team (EST) in the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). This is a key role within the EST Postgraduate Research (PGR) team and the role holder provides high quality administrative support for the PGR team and the research programmes (MPhil/PhD and MD(Res)) in the Faculty. The role supports all key stakeholders throughout the student lifecycle from the enrolment through to graduation and beyond.
The Programme Officer is the first point of contact for PGR students and academic staff in the Faculty and is actively involved in e.g. studentship advertising and Research Passport and DBS application processing. The role holder is responsible for accurate student records keeping and for drafting communications for staff and students (including PGR newsletter) and ensuring that information on the Faculty PGR web and KEATS pages is up to date. Additionally, the role holder organises e.g. induction events for new students.
Working as a member of a busy team the postholder is expected to resolve day to day issues, responding in line with College regulations and policies and work with minimal supervision on a day to day basis.
King’s College London operates under a hybrid working policy and when on campus the post-holder will be based at the Denmark Hill campus (currently 2 days a week).

About the Education Support Team
The Education Support Team provides a comprehensive and professional support service for students and academic staff in the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience working in a complementary capacity with relevant departments throughout King's College London.
This is a full-time post. 100% FTE
Permanent Post
- Support student lifecycle processes from pre-enrolment activities, through induction and registration to graduation and beyond, utilising systems and databases e.g. Student Records system and SITS accordingly, and in accordance with best practice, ensuring consistency of data and identifying and resolving issues
- Support PGR student progress monitoring processes in line with the Faculty deadlines and academic regulations
- Take responsibility for resolving students and academics’ enquiries, including face-to-face and via email, responding within agreed timeframes and escalating complex enquiries as appropriate
- Service committees as directed by your line manager
- Support all postgraduate research activity, working with the academic and administrative teams to identify and deliver improvements to student experience and support
- Ensure that website and KEATS information is kept up to date and address any issues
- Work flexibly as part of a team, supporting others in times of high volume activity, providing cover and supporting the training and development of new staff members
- Take responsibility for own performance and development, through agreeing clear performance objectives, maintaining up-to-date knowledge and reflecting on own performance
- Take personal accountability for the data quality of student records, ensuring records are accurately maintained in accordance with the agreed retention schedules
- Ensure all work is carried out in a professional and timely manner, with appropriate confidentiality and sensitivity.
- Carry out other reasonable responsibilities commensurate with the grading of the post as required

Skills, knowledge, and experience
- Degree level or equivalent qualification or experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft documents and correspondence
- Prior experience of working in an office environment
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and the ability to work on new systems
- Methodical, detail oriented and flexible approach to work, maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders in a professional and assured manner
- Proactive with the ability to work independently as well as delivering within a team
- Experience in the use of databases, student records systems (such as SITS) and website content management systems
- Prior experience of working in a customer facing environment
- Prior event organisation experience
