Job Purpose and Mission

As programme manager, you will liaise and provide professional guidance and leadership to internal teams and external business partners to coordinate and deliver multiple store development programmes that contribute to our ambitious plans for retail store growth across the EMEA region.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Works with external business partners to monitor project execution and risk to ensure key milestones are met. Pro-actively lead on the resolution of issues to deliver against plan.
  • End to end ownership of new store and refurbishment programmes; adhoc Retail projects and initiatives engaging with and leading internal partners and external business partners.
  • Liaises and develops effective relations with internal functions and external contacts/decision makers to align on New Store and Refurbishment Store Development activities and objectives. Pro-actively contributes to collaborative relationships across matrix teams to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Records and clearly communicates programme status to stakeholders accurately and timely.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the end to end store life cycle process via data collation and ongoing analysis
  • Drive the implementation of store delivery programmes by planning, identifying, communicating and delegating key responsibilities and practices to matrix teams.
  • Adopt and where required adapt company-wide programmes, processes and procedures as appropriate for Store Development. Implement new where identified as required.
  • Pro-active approach to continual improvement, reviewing current processes and when required implement new to maintain effectiveness and efficiency across Store Development activities.
  • Supports store growth by employing construction, project delivery and analysis experience to guide external business partners in identifying opportunities for reduction of store investments levels and time to market.
  • Maintains programme governance and escalates issues to the senior programme manager as necessary.
  • Ensures project statuses and dates across all programmes are accurately maintained within the programme management platform for correct reporting against growth plan.
  • Supports on the implementation of the EMEA wide programme management platform via training and mentoring of external and internal business partners.
  • Inspires others to achieve business results and targets. Seeks to understand individual’s motivations, needs and concerns to ensure positive results achieved for the wider team.
  • Utilizes and demonstrates effective management principles and practices to create and maintain a successful programme team resulting in a collaborative environment where all partners are valued and respected.
  • Supports our external business partners on sustainability initiatives that contribute to achieving our sustainability goals.
  • Occasional travel me be required depending on business needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Project manager and / or programme manager experience working within Retail Store Development environments within segments such as grocery, F&B and fashion
  • Experienced in store development design, construction & delivery processes and activities
  • Knowledge of industry relevant construction techniques
  • Ability to lead complex programmes to completion within cross functional matrix team environments
  • Proven ability to build, lead and mentor teams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to plan and analysis critical paths to achieve optimal programme delivery
  • Experienced in optimising project costs via store build cost analysis and value engineering whilst upholding brand principles
  • Familiarity with the integration of Sustainability principles during the store delivery process would be advantageous.
  • Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Experienced in negotiation and influencing to deliver shared objectives
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Experience with managing complex and high-volume delivery programmes
  • Able to demonstrate success in mentoring and coaching of programme and project teams
  • Corporate development or large-scale consulting experience
  • Degree qualified is desirable
  • Experience of working with Power-bi dashboards to drive insights would be beneficial
  • Advanced IT skills in relation to Word, PowerPoint and Excel
