Job description
Programme Manager- two posts available
Permanent | 37 hours per week | £49,866 - £55,059 pa (Grade M) | Norwich
Norfolk has a shared ambition for every child and young person to flourish. We want them to live with resourceful and resilient families in inclusive and supportive communities, to have access to high quality education and training, and the opportunities they need to thrive in adulthood.
Our transformation programme to date has significantly contributed to improved outcomes for children and families and delivery of financial benefits for the organisation. This improvement has recently been endorsed, including a good Ofsted rating with exceptional and exemplary areas of practice for Children’s Services and recognition that we have no significant weakness in our SEND services.
Over the next few years, we will build on this success to deliver a wide-ranging programme that will incorporate all areas of Children’s Services and will deliver new service models, technological advancements, workforce re-design, multi-agency partnerships, commercialisation and a host of other elements to achieve the systemic change we want to deliver for children.
We have investment available to deploy across numerous workstreams in order to achieve better outcomes for children and young people and deliver multi-million-pound savings. Given the scale of what we are trying to achieve we need to expand our highly skilled team to ensure the work is driven forward coherently whilst moving at pace.
We are keen to hear from people with a range of backgrounds – including people who may not have worked in Children’s Services or even local government – but who have skills and knowledge which could make a contribution. This is an opportunity to be part of our highly skilled team with the focus to drive forward transformation at pace. Now is a fantastic moment to join our team!
- You will have the support from and direct access to our senior leaders who are fully supportive of the model, open to new ideas and people who think differently
- We have a substantial investment fund to deploy and a mandate to make change happen
- You will be joining a strong transformation team with a great reputation, where we will invest in your development
- You will have a chance to collaborate with a wide range of organisations in Norfolk who are focused on supporting children, young people and their families
Appropriate challenge and support to senior managers, business and workstream leads is a key part of this role. You will coach colleagues in various change techniques to develop a transformational culture and ethos in Children’s Services.
With a track record of change management and leadership, you’ll evidence your creativity in developing new solutions, applying concepts from one area to another and making it happen. As a strong communicator and influencer, you’ll build energy around the agenda with financial acumen to understand financial triggers in a complex organisation.
