DESCRIPTION

For the purposes of this position, the working title will be Industry Sector Specialist.
The Industry Sector Specialist is assigned to the Division of Career and Adult Education (DCAE), Florida Department of Education (FDOE) and reports to the Assistant Director in the Office of Career and Technical Education (CTE).
- The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions.

- Provides Technical Assistance to locale recipients to implement and carry out programs, services and activities related to Career and Technical Education.
- Supports the Assistant Director in their successful maintenance of Industry Sectors clusters, including, but not limited to Information Technology, Business, Management & Administration, Finance, Arts, A/V Technology & Communication and Marketing, Sales & Service.
- Works with partners in education, business and industry, and trade associations to evaluate, improve, and build quality 21st century Program of Study (POS).
- Conducts evaluations, and accountability studies to identify achievement gaps and improve the delivery of CTE services in the areas of instruction and student performance, as well as generate program reports.
- Familiar with current standards and emerging professional trends, research, as well as developments affecting CTE curriculum and instruction.
- Maintain CPALMS and facilitate technical support and training on how to use the online toolkit.
- Work with DCAE team members on activities and projects related to CTE’s improvement targets and goals.
- In partnership with educational and industry partners, select FCS institutions and other cluster-specific organizations design, develop, and implement quality professional development experiences for CTE teachers and school personnel.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of grants specific to CTE programs, and perform other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Years of experience:
Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience; or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience. A Master’s degree is preferred. Applicants are required to submit a cover letter with their online application.
