Job description
The Recreation Leaders at Tigh-Na-Mara (TNM) is responsible for the supervision of guests in any of the recreation programs at TNM including adult, teen, tween, and youth programs. They are under the direct supervision of the Recreation Manager, and the Recreation Coordinator.
The position runs during the following time periods:
Spring Break (2 weeks)
Christmas Break (2 weeks)
Summer Break (July & August)
This position is a great opportunity for students who are interested in recreation programs or are considering teaching as career.
Essential Functions: (include but are not limited to the following)
- Attend recreational classes and events as required.
- Available for On-Call scheduling.
- Participate in the Orientation at the beginning of each season.
- Ensure distribution and use of guest survey.
- Advises Recreation Coordinator when supplies or equipment are needed.
- Use proper care with recreational equipment and supplies.
- Understands and helps achieve division goals, and objectives.
- Attends and participates in organizational meetings as necessary
- Understands division policies and procedures
- Communicates clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
- Carries out the purposes and policies of the Recreation Department and interprets the same to other staff.
- Maintains journal and logbook records
- Maintains wholesome public image of the Recreation Department
- Answers questions, concerns, and complaints for the Parks and Recreation Division.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
- Communicates and interacts effectively with co-workers, supervisors, volunteers and the public sufficient to convey information and to receive work direction.
- Follows the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator and the Recreation Manager
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week
